Planning a family vacation to meet everyone’s needs can be a tricky proposition: from parents who want to relax to children eager to try every waterslide. Plus, you’ll want to find things you can do together.
When you need to entertain all ages, our cruise ships pack thrills, and ways to chill, for your whole crew.
1. All-Time Favorites
Our Oasis Class ships make quality time on board easy–from scaling the rock-climbing wall to strolling the Boardwalk neighborhood to ride the quintessential carousel. While on ship, discover new culinary traditions in a cooking class, learn cool moves during a dance lesson or take R&R to the next level with a spa experience before exploring shops along the Royal Promenade.
Parents can also relax at the adults-only Solarium, while kids choose their own adventures at Splashaway Bay aqua park or participate in our award-winning Adventure Ocean youth program featuring custom activities for different ages. Round out the evening with a 3D movie or live show like “Grease” or “Hairspray.”
2. Unexpected Adventures
Adrenaline seekers can find a multitude of can’t-miss adventures, from ice skating and bumper cars to zip lining across the ship or “skydiving” with the RipCord by iFly, catching waves on the FlowRider surfing simulator or conquering the Ultimate Abyss, the tallest slide at sea.
Want more? Guest can look out from 300 feet above sea level in the North Star observation capsule or marvel at high-flying acrobatics at the AquaTheater.
3. Thrilling Excursions
The entire family can create lasting memories while exploring our excursions. From catching King Crab in Alaska to tossing pizzas in Italy—no two ports are the same. Nature enthusiasts can spelunk at Bermuda’s Crystal Caves, discover shipwrecks in that infamous triangle, or spot green monkeys and leatherback turtles in Barbados, stingrays in the Cayman Islands, or koalas and kangaroos in Australia.
Looking for some action? You can zip line through the rainforests in Mexico and climb ancient Mayan ruins, learn hand-to-hand combat as a Roman gladiator in Italy or dog sled in Alaska. For families who want to try new and exotic flavors, food tours in Vietnam, Turkey and Hawaii are certain to tantalize taste buds.
4. Distinct Accommodations
Families of any size can relax in style on board. From the Ultimate Family Suite on Symphony of the Seas, to spacious staterooms with family-friendly floor plans, there is a room to book for any family.
Rooms can accommodate up to six people with additional sleeping options like a sofa, Pullman bed or a crib, if needed. There are also connecting staterooms with one door between them, just like hotels, a great way to give you and your kids more space. Guests with special needs will feel comfortable on our ships as well since we’ve made it a priority to be accessible to everyone.
5. Delicious Eats
Variety is the spice of life! Our many dining options offer go-to favorites, as well as new tastes. Windjammer Café can please fussy eaters with pizza and pasta, while others sample regional dishes as well as salad bars and carving stations. In our Main Dining rooms, My Family Time Dining gives you the flexibility to schedule evening plans so parents can enjoy our constantly rotating menu as kids head off to supervised activities with Adventure Ocean staff after they eat.
For an epicurean adventure, try any dish from one of our specialty restaurants’ menus from around the world, with just one cover charge or as part of a dining package. Mix an eclectic craft cocktail with whimsical food creations at Wonderland, and if your crowd craves sushi or the excitement of hibachi, be sure and pull up a chair at Izumi.
