Legends of bar hopping earn their status and live on when they tell an interesting story about your companions or your bartender or the watering holes themselves. The Royal Promenade onboard Royal Caribbean International’s ships features many attractions, and at the top of the list is its collection of neighborhood bars, each with a distinctive lure and each waiting to join the list of legendary stories. If you were to start your night by bellying up to one of the bars on our Oasis Class ships (the largest cruise ships in the world!) and ask, “where ‘ya from?” you’ll find the answers are as varied as “MIT, Central Park or deck 8.” That’s a good start, but creating the rest of your memorable story is up to you.
Here’s the starting lineup of options:
Midday at The Pub: Steady your nerves after a plunge down The Ultimate Abyss (a 10-story slide—the tallest at sea) by lifting a pint at this English-style pub. The menu features a long list of imported beers and ales, and there are often live acoustic performances at the venue.
Afternoon “commute” at The Rising Tide: If you are uncertain, yes, this room moves. The first moving bar at sea slowly rises and descends between the Promenade on deck 5 and Central Park – yes, Central Park, one of our famous neighborhoods, on deck 8. What better place to raise a toast to your unforgettable vacation?
Happy hour at the Bionic Bar: These one-of-a-kind bartenders combine Ivy League smarts with the smooth moves of the mixologists who made James Bond’s shaken martini just right, every time. The robotic-tenders behind this bar got their start in the labs at MIT where they learned to mix, muddle and shake 120 drinks an hour (two every minute) with the precision of, well, a machine. They got elective arts training at the American Ballet Theater; this is where the Makr Shakr designers captured the fluid moves of a principal dancer to program the graceful movement of their limbs.
After-dinner drinks at Schooner Bar: After dinner, or any time, this spot is a cozy, classic piano bar where you can sink into a club chair and enjoy the art of cocktail crafting. It is a perfect place to catch your breath before hitting a show or the dance floor.
Drinks and salsa at Boleros: That dance floor might just be at this Latin hotspot. Yep, the mojitos are cold and the salsa beat is hot. Just try to resist but do yourself a favor and indulge in these Latin favorites.
Have your nightcap On Air: If you’ve braved towering waterslides and shimmied across the dance floor, surely you are ready for karaoke. At On Air, available on Harmony, Symphony and Allure of the Seas, greet the new day with an epic performance—and even an encore—before you bow out for the night. Spotlight Karaoke is our brand-new lounge on Oasis of the Seas, where guests can belt out tunes from a catalog of thousands of songs.
Wherever you are from, whatever your background or tippling preference, there is a bar for you on Royal Caribbean’s Oasis class ships.
