Royal Caribbean’s story has always been about reimagining and reinventing what it means to vacation. The brand has transformed the placid trip at sea into an adventure that rivals an action-packed day at the theme park—that is, if the rides are followed by an award-winning culinary experience, and the day ends in modern, luxe accommodations. When it was introduced in 2008, the Oasis class of ships was a true revolution in design: the heart of each ship is open to the sky and they all feature a seven-neighborhood concept. It was a hit from the start, and has been a favorite of families and adventurers ever since.
Imagine taking all the things you love about the Oasis class and adding the adrenaline shot of the 10-story Ultimate Abyss, the tallest slide at sea; waterslides; VOOM, the fastest internet at sea; and new culinary concepts. Welcome to Harmony of the Seas.
This is not a cruise. This is a plunge into pure escapism, with heart-thumping challenges onboard en route to some of the most dynamic destinations in the world.
Seven Unique Neighborhoods
The neighborhoods are back. The Boardwalk, with its carousel jewel at heart, pays homage to the great wooden ways of the past. The Royal Promenade has enough imbibing options (yes, there is a Bionic Bar) to offer its own bar crawl. Central Park is an oasis with dining, shopping, and simple pleasures. Vitality at Sea Spa and Entertainment Place please day and night, and the Pool and Sports Zone has reached new heights.
AquaTheater Plus
Specifically, the Pool and Sports Zone has expanded to 150 feet above the ocean. That’s where the Ultimate Abyss begins. Other aquatic adventures include The Perfect Storm—a trio of twisting, turning slides—plus two FlowRiders. And for kids, there is Splashaway Bay. But if you’re brave enough, take the plunge from the upper deck at the Ultimate Abyss down 10 stories to the landing zone. It’s in the Boardwalk, where you’ll also find the AquaTheater, which presents feats of professional acrobats and high divers for the entire family.
Elevated Dining Experience
New sights, new colors, bold flavors: dining has become way more adventurous, too. The choices on Harmony range from classics like Chops Grille to sophisticates like 150 Central Park, the ingenious Wonderland and the earthy Jamie’s Italian.
Harmony of the Seas began her inaugural summer season in the Mediterranean in June 2016. See where she’s off to next, and check out ways to join her here.
